Connecticut Chiefs Rallied Community at Back-to-Back Charity Games for Duchenne

On President’s Day, the Connecticut Chiefs premier hockey organization hosted back-to-back charity games benefitting Jett Foundation. Kristin Johnson, wife of Chiefs owner Brandon Johnson and Celebration of Impact Committee Member, organized the event. Kristin is the sister-in-law of Community Ambassador Diana Johnson. Diana’s five-year-old son Jordan has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and he along with dad Jordan and siblings Layla and Julian, were the stars of the show Monday in their hometown. Diana has been an active member of the Jett Foundation family, organizing “Check-in for Charity” and trivia night fundraisers.

The all-day event in Newington, Connecticut was super successful in terms of raising awareness and funds; Diana and the Chiefs raised almost $5,000 for Jett Foundation, which will be recognized as a sponsorship for our upcoming Celebration of Impact. The Chiefs additionally gave Jordan some signed gear and signed a custom jersey which was raffled off in Game 2.

A huge thank you to Kristin and Brandon Johnson and the Connecticut Chiefs organization, as well as the extended Johnson family, the Newington Fire Department Company 1, everyone who donated raffle items, everyone who showed up and supported the events, and the Wolfpack and Yard Goats organizations for supporting our mission as well.

“We would like to extend the deepest level of gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to each and every individual who donated to our first CT Chiefs Charity Hockey Fundraiser supporting the Jett Foundation,” said Diana, “Your donations, both online and in person, will directly benefit the families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy through the impactful programs and services offered by the Jett Foundation. This event was a true testament to the caring community that we are so proud to be a part of! Thank you on behalf of the Johnson & Chiefs family, it’s been an honor to share this experience with you!”

Looking forward to next year!
