Cure Dale’s Duchenne Gifts $500,000 to Jett Foundation’s Jett Giving Fund

The Ginder Family of Cure Dale’s Duchenne

We would like to thank the Ginder family of Cure Dale’s Duchenne for their continued partnership in support of our Jett Giving Fund program. Jett Foundation’s vision of the Jett Giving Fund would not be possible without the Ginder Family and their faith in the work we are doing to support families in the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community.

Rick and Lelia Ginder founded Cure Dale’s Duchenne soon after their youngest son, Dale, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of six in April 2008. Since Dale’s life-changing diagnosis, Cure Dale’s Duchenne has focused their support towards research efforts for Duchenne. While they continue to support and fund research, they also acknowledge the incredible need that families impacted by Duchenne face day to day.

In addition to their annual $100,000 gift to support the Jett Giving Fund in 2020, Cure Dale’s Duchenne gifted Jett Foundation $150,000 to help families in response to the pandemic. With this unwavering support, we have recently launched a new arm of the Jett Giving Fund, the Emergency Fund, which aims to help families facing unexpected financial hardships. The new fund provides for necessities like groceries, rent or mortgage, utilities, and more.

“We see so many people struggling to make ends meet, especially those already struggling with Duchenne, and we want to help. We are really fortunate that our business has not been affected during the pandemic, and we are in the position to help others,” said Lelia Ginder. “We are happy to have the opportunity to partner with [Jett Foundation] to make a difference for boys and their families.”

The Ginder family again stepped up to the plate at the end of 2020 with an additional $250,000 gift to directly support families in the Jett Giving Fund’s accessible vehicle program. As part of the program, each family sets a goal to raise 50% of the cost of their accessible vans. With a boost from the Ginder family, program participants were able to achieve their fundraising goals and Jett Foundation covered the remaining 50% of vehicle costs, making it possible for families to receive their equipment before the holidays.

“I know it’s good to have people try to raise money on their own, but in many cases it’s difficult, if not impossible, especially during this time,” said Rick Ginder. “We are glad to be part of the solution.”

Since 2017, Jett Giving Fund has gifted over $1.8 million in equipment to 45 families in need.

“Jett Foundation could not provide the community with much-needed accessibility equipment without dedicated community partners like Cure Dale’s Duchenne,” said Eric Snyder, Jett Foundation’s Executive Director. “We extend a heartfelt thanks!”
