This is a fun family-oriented event for kids of all ages, handicap accessible and we welcome the Duchenne community, family, and friends! Crazy as it sounds; this event involves racing rubber ducks in a lazy river that have been adopted with your donations to raise awareness and funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy!
My name is Melissa Morgensen and I am the host of the Duchenne Ducky Derby event this year. Duchenne muscular dystrophy entered our lives just over a year ago when my husband and I sat in a hospital room together when both our sons Mason (7) and Jaxton (4) received a diagnosis. We are still pretty new to the Duchenne world, but like many we refuse to let this disease define us and are eager to make a difference!
Show your support of the Duchenne community by adopting your duck, being a sponsor, or simply sharing this event with your family and friends. Download the event flyer by clicking here.
All proceeds from this event benefit Jett Foundation in their fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy. To learn more about Jett Foundation and Duchenne, please click here.

Diagnosed during childhood, Duchenne is a progressive neuromuscular disorder that causes a loss of motor, pulmonary, and cardiac function, and premature death. It affects every one in 3,500 live male births and some females. Duchenne has no cure. Children with Duchenne are born seemingly healthy and decline over time, usually losing their ability to walk around the age of 12 and succumbing to the disease in their early to mid-twenties.
