Fundraising for a Stairlift
We're in the final stages of making our home completely accessible to Connor. Now that Connor is unable to safely climb/descend on stairs, we're hoping to give him access to the entire home. Specifically, we have a basement area, known as the "Man Cave", where Connor and his friends can hang out and enjoy movies, video games and general fun without the presence of his parents. However, the basement is inaccessible to Connor unless one of us carries him down or up the stairs, which is very unsafe to all involved. While Connor has all of his needs met on our first floor ranch-level home, he desires and deserves a place where he can hang out with his friends without the presence of his parents, especially as he becomes an adult.
Why help us with this?
We've used all of our available resources to purchase a handicap van and to make the house accessible. We're hoping you'll be willing to help us, help Connor safely reach the basement "Man Cave" with your donations towards the purchase and installation of an incline, platform lift, which allows Connor to drive his power chair onto the lift, descend the stairs and exit with his power chair to enjoy the activities in the room. It gives him some independence, confidence and flexibility to enjoy his life to the best possible fullest.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
