Trae’von

Fundraising for a new van

Trae’von was diagnosed with Duchenne at age 7, which is late compared to other children and young people living with Duchenne. Shortly after being diagnosed, he had achilles tendon surgery on both legs. Trae’von walked up until this year. We had a chair ramp for our truck but over the summer it broke, leaving us without a ramp.

Now, we have to lift Trae’von into the car, which is difficult for me with a bad back, and my husband is not able to assist due to being an amputee. I have had to leave my profession after 16 years to assist Trae’von with daily activities. We have been through difficulties with my husband’s amputation, financial struggles, and near homelessness, currently we are staying with family. Having a van would allow for Trae’von to have more independence and would ease the difficulty of traveling to doctor’s appointments and therapy appointments.

Thank you for your consideration!
