44 Kilometers, One Purpose: Crystal Gordon’s Run for the Duchenne Community

February 19, 2026

In January 2026, Crystal Gordon celebrated her 44th birthday in a way few people would dare: by running 44 kilometers in 24 hours to raise $4,400 for Jett Foundation. What began as a personal endurance challenge quickly became something much bigger… a powerful show of solidarity with families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

By the time she crossed the finish line, Crystal had not only completed the miles she set out to conquer, but surpassed her fundraising goal, raising an incredible $4,500 in support of Jett Foundation’s mission.

For Crystal, every step carried meaning.

She shares, “Crossing the finish line was a mix of relief, pride, and perspective. The race pushed me to my limits, and there were moments when it felt impossibly hard. But I kept coming back to one truth: the struggle of a single day is nothing compared to the strength families impacted by Duchenne show every day. Supporting Jett Foundation through this race has been a true honor, and I hope it helps shine a brighter light on this community’s courage.”

Crystal’s commitment to the Duchenne community extends beyond this inspiring birthday challenge. In her professional life, she is part of the team at Precision BioSciences, which recently received FDA clearance enabling the initiation of clinical trial site activation for the FUNCTION-DMD Phase 1/2 clinical study for individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Her dedication reflects a powerful combination of personal passion and professional purpose, a rare and meaningful alignment that amplifies her impact.

Fundraisers like Crystal’s play a vital role in advancing Jett Foundation’s programs, advocacy, and resources for individuals and families living with Duchenne. Each mile she ran represents hope, awareness, and tangible support for a community that shows extraordinary resilience every day.

Crystal’s story is a reminder that anyone can make a difference, often by simply putting one foot in front of the other.

Thank you, Crystal, for turning your birthday into a movement of strength, generosity, and heart!
