Jett Foundation is celebrating an exciting milestone: our first-ever state funding, with $250,000 invested to help bring Jett’s Place to life!
Thanks to the support of Massachusetts State Senator Patrick O’Connor, this first-of-its-kind investment represents an important step forward in creating a welcoming, accessible space where individuals and families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy can find connection, support, and community.
Senator O’Connor championed the funding through an amendment to the Massachusetts state budget, helping elevate Jett Foundation’s vision with resources at the state level.
“I was thrilled to be able to connect the Jett Foundation with leaders on Beacon Hill and talk about the importance of work being done not only here on the South Shore, but statewide and nationally,” he shared.
For Senator O’Connor, the investment is about more than supporting a new facility. It’s about building stronger communities.
“My goal has always been to invest in community, and Jett Foundation is certainly building community here,” he said.
During our conversation, Senator O’Connor emphasized the importance of equity and accessibility. He expressed his hope that Jett’s Place could become a model for other communities seeking to better serve individuals living with disabilities and serious diseases.
He also recognized the heart behind Jett Foundation’s mission, describing it as something “created out of love and care.”
“We believe in what’s happening here and want to see it grow,” he said.

His support brings us one step closer to making Jett’s Place a reality and to creating more opportunities for individuals and families in the Duchenne community.
