The sun has set on another extraordinary session of Camp Promise – Arizona, one of Jett Foundation’s 18+ adult retreats, leaving behind memories that will last a lifetime. Designed specifically for adults living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders, this unique week brings together incredible individuals for a barrier-free experience rooted in community, independence, and fun.

Reflecting on this year’s retreat, Camp Promise – Arizona Director Jodi shared that “Camp Promise – Arizona 2026 was a beautiful reminder of what happens when community, purpose, and heart come together. Throughout the week, we witnessed friendships grow, confidence soar, and independence shine. It was a week filled with laughter, connection, and moments of pure magic that will stay with us for years to come. It was simply just awesome.”

From high-energy competition to relaxing retreats, this year’s itinerary was packed with dynamic programming that kept everyone engaged. Campers took aim during air rifle shooting, geared up for intense laser tag battles, enjoyed a vibrant Luau, created artwork with Lauren, and were treated to a captivating Polynesian performance during the Makai show. By far, one of the most talked-about highlights was the Spa Day, with one camper noting that while there were so many good things this year, the spa was likely the favorite, though picking a least favorite was impossible.

Camp Promise is more than just a summer getaway; it is a vital space for personal growth, connection, and renewal. For many, it serves as the ultimate high point of the year and a chance to “reset” before stepping into new seasons of life. Campers shared that the experience offered a valuable few days of fun before school started, a welcoming environment to meet wonderful new people, and quite simply, the “best week of the year.” As Jodi emphasized, the greatest gift of Camp Promise is watching campers discover what is possible when they are surrounded by people who understand, encourage, and celebrate them. Everyone left with new connections, unforgettable memories, helpful daily resources, and the confidence that comes from knowing they belong to this community year-round.

An experience of this scale would not be possible without the passion and selfless commitment of our volunteer crew. As Jodi noted, the volunteers are the true heartbeat of the Camp Promise Retreat. This year’s extraordinary team brought skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment to every aspect of camp, creating a space where young adults and adults with rare diseases could thrive, connect, and experience the freedom of being fully themselves.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the generous sponsors, partners, and donors whose financial support ensures Camp Promise remains completely free for all campers and their families. This year’s Camp Promise sponsors include Cure Dale’s Duchenne, Flatley Foundation, Sarepta Therapeutics, Catalyst, NS Pharma, ITF Therapeutics, Entrada, the Killian Family, Tall Cedars Foundation, Edgewise, Transamerica, and Ultragenyx.
