Farewell, Alyssa

August 9, 2016

Today we say farewell and thank you to Alyssa, our summer intern. It feels like just a short while ago she joined our team, but in the time since, she has contributed greatly to camp. Thank you for your dedication and hard work, Alyssa, and for all of your behind-the-scenes efforts to make camp run smoothly. We enjoyed having you in the office, your smile and friendliness brought so much to everyone here. Good luck as you move on to become a teacher!

We will miss you, Alyssa!

P.S. If you are interested in interning at the Camp Promise office in the future, please contact Libby at libby@camppromise.org.

From Alyssa herself

As I sit here in the office on my last day, I am trying to come up with the words to describe my journey with Camp Promise and the Jett Foundation over these past 4 months. As the intern for Camp Promise, I have been honored with meeting and working alongside the amazing people who make this camp such a success, the families that send their children to camp, and the campers for whom we do this. I have learned an incredible amount about muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases, the nationwide Camp Promise family, the outstanding programs offered to people affected by this disease, and all of the tireless efforts made to make these individuals’ dreams become a reality.

The only word I can use is blessed. I feel so blessed to have met so many families and campers, worked with the astounding people in the office, watched camp numbers grow, and to have seen the fruits of my labor as pictures were posted from Camp Promise – East and Camp Promise-Rockies and soon from Camp Promise – West. I just loved seeing the smiles of campers, volunteers and staff having the time of their lives. Even though my time at Camp Promise is over, I will never cease to support this camp, the Jett Foundation, and the muscular dystrophy community.
Thank you to everyone who made this experience completely and utterly unforgettable!

Good luck everyone,
Alyssa
