Honoring Troy Chauppetta’s Legacy Through the Power of Storytelling

June 3, 2026

The Duchenne community is built on resilience, connection, and the countless individuals who inspire us through their strength and determination. This year, we remember and honor one of those remarkable individuals, Troy Chauppetta, who passed away on December 31, 2025.

Troy and his identical twin brother, Andrew, were well-known and beloved members of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community. Both were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and dedicated their lives to advocacy, inclusion, and empowering others. As members of Team USA Power Wheelchair Soccer and longtime Jett Foundation Community Ambassadors, the brothers shared their voices on panels, participated in advocacy events, spoke at Awareness Day activities, and consistently showed up for families navigating life with Duchenne.

In the months following Troy’s passing, Andrew found a meaningful way to celebrate their bond and preserve the memories they shared. Inspired by one of their greatest passions, Power Wheelchair Soccer, Andrew authored a children’s book that introduces young readers to the sport that brought so much joy, purpose, and community to both brothers.

The book is more than a story about soccer. It is a tribute to friendship, perseverance, teamwork, and the opportunities that adaptive sports create for individuals with disabilities. Through its pages, Andrew honors Troy’s legacy while helping a new generation of readers understand the excitement and inclusion that Power Wheelchair Soccer makes possible.

For those who knew Troy, the book serves as a reminder of his enthusiasm, determination, and love for the game. For those discovering the story for the first time, it offers a glimpse into the impact that adaptive sports can have on the lives of athletes and their families.

In a generous gesture that reflects the brothers’ longstanding commitment to the Duchenne community, a portion of proceeds from every book purchase will be donated to Jett Foundation to support programs and resources for families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

We are grateful to Andrew for sharing his story, honoring his brother’s memory, and continuing to advocate for the community they both loved so deeply.

Troy’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the community he helped strengthen, and now, through a story that will inspire readers for years to come.
