Where are you from? Tell us about you!
I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where I still live today. I’m a proud mom to two teenage boys, and I truly love all things camp! I worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 16 years, where I also directed camps for kids with Duchenne and other neuromuscular disorders. I am looking forward to being a part of the amazing program that Camp Promise offers.
What brings you to Jett Foundation and Camp Promise?
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, I had to make some changes regarding my career. I wanted to stay within the nonprofit sector, and ideally I wanted to continue directing camps. When the opportunity with the Jett Foundation presented itself, I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me! I look forward to continuing to work with families affected by Duchenne and other neuromuscular disorders, as well as continuing to help execute safe and fun camp sessions for campers of all ages.
Tell us some fun facts about you!
- I was a Camp Director for 5 years.
- I love ALL animals, but my favorites are cats, dogs and goats!!
- I enjoy growing my own plants, flowers, herbs, and veggies.
- Things that give me the most happiness are; making others smile/laugh, giving back and making a difference in other people’s lives, seeing my kids succeed in life, and of course…any and everything CAMP!
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Being a part of the Camp Promise-Connect virtual program for the first time, as well as meeting and working with everyone within the Jett Foundation and Camp Promise community!
Thanks, Niki! Let’s give her a big Camp Promise welcome!
