Look high and low, left to right, underneath beds, and tops of shelves… are you finding some books you’ve already read? Do you have a mini-library in your home, containing books you would be willing to part with? We do too, so we came up with a plan!
With Camp Promise’s goal of reaching deeper into the communities that so lovingly host us when camp comes rolling into town, we want to find new ways to support those who surround us. This year, in honor of our Storybook Character theme day, we encourage you all to bring in those well-loved storybooks. Whether it be one of your favorites that you’d love to share, fiction, non-fiction, old textbooks, thriller, action; whatever it may be, we encourage you to bring in one, two, or a whole stack.
We have partnered with local agencies to receive these bound pages after camp concludes:
- Camp Promise-East: “Charities of Hope”
- Camp Promise-Rockies: “Read Colorado”
- Camp Promise-West: “Gig Harbor- FISH”
As camp is fast approaching, we hope you keep Pigasus’ Book Drive in mind. Add it to your packing checklist, and check it twice! We want to give your books a new home.
(There will be a box for the books you wish to donate placed at both staff and camper check-in)
We can’t wait to see these pages turn, into the hands of someone new!
