From July 24-27, campers, volunteers, and staff gathered at the beautiful Whispering Hope Ranch in Payson, Arizona, for another unforgettable session of Camp Promise – Arizona. Surrounded by the peaceful mountain landscape and friendly ranch animals, our community came together to create memories that will last a lifetime.
This year, we welcomed 25 campers and 34 volunteers, each bringing their own energy, spirit, and excitement to camp.
Every day was filled with adventure and connection – whether it was horseback riding, arts and crafts, campfire singalongs, or simply sharing laughs with new friends. Afternoons brought sunshine and fresh mountain air, while evenings gave us the perfect backdrop for stories, games, and the kind of joy that only camp can bring.
What makes Camp Promise so special isn’t just the activities… it’s the people. Our campers remind us daily of the strength, resilience, and light that shine within this community. Volunteers gave their all to ensure that every camper could experience the magic of camp without limits. Together, they built friendships and created a supportive environment where everyone could be themselves.
As one camper shared, “Camp is where I feel free, it’s where I can do anything, and I’m surrounded by people who get it.” That spirit of belonging and empowerment is exactly why Camp Promise exists.
