On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Team Jett’s Gals for Cal took on the Title 9 Hopkinton Triathlon with determination, heart, and an unshakable mission: to raise awareness and critical funds for families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
This year’s race carried even more meaning – it fell on World Duchenne Awareness Day, just one day after Jett Foundation’s in-person awareness event. Together, these two milestones created a powerful weekend of awareness, action, and community for Duchenne families nationwide.
Despite the rainy weather, our athletes showed the true spirit of the Gals for Cal tradition. More than 45 dedicated women joined the team, each swimming ¼ mile, biking 10 miles, and running 3.1 miles in support of Duchenne families. Along the course, they were fueled by cheers from dozens of supporters: children and young adults diagnosed with Duchenne, friends, families, Jett staff from across the country, and community members who showed up to make sure no one crossed the finish line alone.
The downpour couldn’t dampen the energy, camaraderie, and purpose that carried our team across the finish line. Every stroke, pedal, and stride was a reminder that together, we are Stronger than Duchenne.

“Standing on the sidelines and cheering for our Gals never gets old,” says Jett Foundation’s Director of Development, Maura Carroll. “Rain or shine, they show up with such determination and love for the Duchenne community. Watching 45 women race on World Duchenne Awareness Day was incredibly moving, and I’m so proud to have been part of this tradition since its very beginning.”
We are deeply grateful to every athlete, volunteer, cheerleader, donor, and sponsor who made this day possible. This year, the team raised nearly $42,000 that will directly support programs and resources for families across the country living with Duchenne.
