Dr. Maitea is a principal clinical scientist and works as a development leader in the Neuromuscular department at Roche. She has been investigating treatments for Duchenne for the last 10 years and is now focused in studying the potential for a drug called satralizumab to improve not only muscle function, but also bone health in Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Roche would like to share with the community the recent learnings around the natural history of bone health, which is an important aspect of living with Duchenne. We will also discuss why fractures occur and how the SHIELD DMD study will explore the potential of satralizumab to target both bone health and muscle function in Duchenne.
