Dr. Becca Wallace, PsyD is a pediatric psychologist that has worked at Children’s Hospital New Orleans since January 2020. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology with a concentration in health psychology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, her internship with the South Florida Internship Consortium, and post-doctorial fellowship in pediatric psychology with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. She works with various medical populations ranging from Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pulmonary, and Neuromuscular. Dr. Wallace takes a compassionate and holistic approach, focusing on helping patients understand and adjust to their diagnosis so that they can continue to thrive in their lives. In addition, she works with patients and parents to help them navigate and manage the mental and emotional health symptoms that often influence their physical health as well. She recognizes how much her neuromuscular patients and their families overcome daily and is in awe of all they accomplish.
Dr. Bradford was born and raised on the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a small archipelago of 32 islands in the Caribbean. She moved to the United States after high school to attain higher education and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. She went on to receive her medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency training at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
She then transitioned to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where she completed her categorical pediatric cardiology fellowship. Dr. Bradford pursued an advanced 4th-year cardiology fellowship in pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and heart transplantation, also at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. After completing training, Dr. Bradford moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where she spent the first five years of her career as an attending transplant cardiologist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology and joined the team at Children’s Hospital New Orleans (CHNOLA) as Medical Director of the Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy Service in September 2019. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and has expertise regarding the evaluation and management of patients with heart failure and heart transplantation, and most recently COVID related cardiac complications in the pediatric population. She is the only heart failure/cardiomyopathy specialist at CHNOLA and works closely with the Neuromuscular Multidisciplinary Team in seeing and managing all patients with a variety of muscular dystrophies across the region.
Every Dreams Come True application is handled by Becky; some she interviews and some she delegates; but she works on every dream. She use to cover the entire state of Louisiana, now she has amazing volunteers in the New Orleans, North Louisiana, Houma/Thibodeaux area and Lake Charles.
Becky is a Communion Minister, serving at Sunday Mass, at Nursing Homes, and for the Homebound. She works with many dream families to help in other ways aside from their dreams. She is a mother to three daughters, eight wonderful grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Becky moved to Baton Rouge 30 years ago and moved back 11 years ago to take care of her parents. Her job is also her passion. Her goal is for everyone to know about Dreams Come True of Louisiana, INC.

Dr. Urvi is the Director of the Carolinas MDA Care Center (Adult and Pediatric) and Professor of Neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She obtained her graduate medical degree at MS University, India followed by residency in Neurology and fellowship in Neuromuscular Disorders/EMG at UNC Chapel Hill. She has established subspecialty physician and allied health team collaborations in multidisciplinary Adult and Pediatric MDA clinics at Atrium health. She is the recipient of MGFA Partners in Care and CMT/HNF Center for Excellence as well as the ‘researcher of the year’ for Atrium Health Neuroscience Institute awards. She serves on the Advisory Board for the North Carolina site for MD STAR-Net, a CDC-funded network that conducts public health surveillance of muscular dystrophy. She is a member of GRASP (Genetic Resolution and Assessments Solving Phenotypes)- LGMD consortium. Her research interests include overlap of sleep and neuromuscular disorders, and she serves as the principal investigator for multiple clinical trials, in MG, CIDP, DMD, SMA, hereditary TTR Amyloidosis, and LGMDs.
“Cardiology is a subspecialty in pediatrics that has shown so much progress in the recent decades. And it has been a privilege to be a part of this journey. With the many advances in care, many children with heart disease can now live well into adulthood. I love caring for these children and learning from them every day. They always remind me to be hopeful.”
Dr. Dorotan-Guevara is board certified in pediatrics with a subspecialty in pediatric cardiology. She received her medical degree at the University of the Philippines Manila and completed a residency in pediatrics at Ochsner Health System. She completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida and a pediatric interventional cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Outside of work, Dr. Dorotan-Guevara loves traveling with her husband and 2 children. They enjoy discovering new food, places and cultures. She enjoys listening to music, watching movies and reading books. A beach trip is her favorite relaxing vacation.

Through these workshops, we empower patients and families with the knowledge needed to be their own best advocates, spread awareness about Duchenne in the medical field, and help accelerate research and development.
During these workshops, you’ll hear from Duchenne clinicians, pharmaceutical companies in the Duchenne space, and local experts on topics like clinical trials, standard of care, physical therapy, adaptive sports, and much more. You’ll also learn about helpful resources and our direct service programs such as Camp Promise, Jett Giving Fund, and Community Ambassadors.
