Raising Funds for an Accessible Van

The Petz Family is originally from Boca Raton, Florida, and has recently moved to Bedford, New Hampshire. The family relocated so their son, Logan (12), can have better access to medical care for his Duchenne muscular dystrophy diagnosis. Duchenne is a progressive neuromuscular disorder that causes a loss of motor, pulmonary, and cardiac function.
Logan has three brothers, Mason (9), Miles (6), and Liam (4), and is cared for by his parents, Tim and Luciana. The family enjoys camping together, where Logan can venture throughout a large space with his brothers in a power chair. Together, they also enjoy playing video games and visiting family and friends in Florida. Logan, an old soul, loves visiting museums and historical sites.
Logan lost his ability to walk at the age of 10 due to Duchenne, forcing his parents to lift him around the home and in and out their vehicle when traveling. Luciana recently hurt her back while lifting Logan into the car for a therapy appointment and has struggled to safely give him the assistance he needs as he grows in size.
“Our family has to limit the outings we take with Logan to limit the stress it puts on all of our bodies,” says Luciana. “We must prioritize medical appointments and school but even that is becoming extremely difficult without an accessible vehicle.”
As participants in Jett Foundation’s Accessible Vehicle Fund branch of the Jett Giving Fund, the Petz Family will aim to raise half or more of the funds needed for their accessible vehicle before Jett Foundation steps in to cover the remaining costs and purchase the vehicle outright.

The family shares, “Logan has been dreaming of going to the supermarket and running errands with us, just like we used to. An accessible van would allow him to partake in family outings with all of his brothers once again.”
The Petz family has met their fundraising goal and received accessible transportation thanks to supporters like you! You can still support our program and future program participants with a gift to Jett Foundation today:
