Meet Zac, Jett Foundation’s New Marketing & Communications Manager

We are excited to introduce the newest member of our team, Zac Bentley! Zac is eager to begin his role as Marketing and Communications Manager.

Zac has known his eventual place in the world was within nonprofit work since early years of college while taking courses on global communication and nonprofit public relations. A supplement to Zac’s education and work life has been running competitively and athletics as a whole. Volunteering for the Special Olympics programs and leading a running club through community connectivity sparked his passion for the combination of nonprofit service and wellness of the human body, which is why he chose Jett Foundation.

As Zac completed his Master in Public Administration from Westfield State University last year (2021), he served as Public Relations Officer for the Taunton Public Schools District in Massachusetts where he focused on impactful campaigns and social media strategy. He enjoyed connecting with alumni and current educators to learn about their contributions to the community.

Zac’s master’s program derived from decisions at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. “In a way, the timing of the pandemic really aided my decision to move forward with nonprofit marketing. I was able to spend more time researching and considering what I want to do once school is done, so I took on the MPA program to get the full picture,” he says.

Zac adds that his interest in nonprofit work came from coaching: “Working with children of all ages that have many different backgrounds and stories just swept me off my feet. A primary point of coaching is obviously physical performance, but the bigger takeaway will always be personal growth for who you coach. I figured that if I can share my passion in a way that helps others be their best selves through coaching, I can also do that in a career through nonprofits,” he says.

In his free time, Zac enjoys running competitively, spending time with his family, and searching for the best food stops around. He and his girlfriend have developed a competitive list of smoothie bowl locations, pizza joints, and burrito bowls (though they remain classified). Fun fact: Zac hasn’t taken more than 2 weeks off consecutively from running since the 4th grade!

Zac is very pleased to be working with Jett Foundation and all of its team members, including the entire Duchenne community! We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.
