Trina is an animal lover and a mother of three. When she is not busy on the farm, she loves traveling, adventures, and shenanigans.
Where are you from? Tell us about you!
“I was born and raised in a small, rural town in South Louisiana. Most of our family is here and we decided to stay and raise our family here as well. It turned out to be a wise decision because 2 out of our 3 children were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and we truly needed our village through the years.”
What are you excited about at Jett Foundation?
“I’m excited to step into my new role at Jett Foundation because I feel like I can bring a unique perspective not only as a mom and caregiver to two children diagnosed with Duchenne, but as a patient myself having been diagnosed as a manifesting carrier or a female with dystrophinopathy. I want the world to know that females affected by x-linked disorders, such as Duchenne, are more than just carriers. Jett’s mission statement really resonated with me, especially that they want to help everyone diagnosed with Duchenne including women and young girls.”
What are some fun facts about you?
“We have 6 dogs, 5 cats, 2 pigs, 2 mini cows, 2 full sized cows, 2 mini donkeys, 9 sheep, and 8 chickens on our little farm. I absolutely love being outdoors and out on the water!”
