After years of navigating the challenges that come with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, 10-year-old Carson Webb and his family welcomed a new accessible van to their home in Knoxville, Tennessee, on September 12. Thanks to Jett Foundation’s Accessible Vehicle Fund, the family now has more freedom to travel together and enjoy life without the added stress that transportation once brought.
Since losing his ability to walk in August 2025, getting around has become one of the biggest challenges for Carson. His mother, Ashley Draper, said taking Carson to school and medical appointments often meant traveling separately from the rest of the family.
When Ashley applied for Jett Foundation’s Accessible Vehicle Fund, she hoped it would help restore normalcy while giving Carson the accommodations he needs. After months of fundraising, that hope became a reality.

Now, everyone can travel together in one vehicle and outings no longer require the same level of planning. For Carson and his loved ones, the van means more than simply getting from one place to another. It gives them the independence to go where they want, when they want.
Through all the ups and downs, Ashley says Carson has remained positive and continues to overcome obstacles in his way. During some of their most difficult moments, she says their faith has helped give the family hope and look toward the future.
Ashley’s advice to other families facing similar challenges is simple: don’t be afraid to ask for help.
“Get out of your comfort zone and be willing to ask anyone for help getting what your loved one needs,” she says.
Congratulations, Carson! We’re so happy to have been part of this special moment for you and your family. We hope this new chapter brings a little more ease to your days and opens the door to new adventures with the people you love most.
