In the midst of the hectic holiday season, we wanted to take a minute at Camp Promise and look back at the year we had. We asked one of our first time volunteers, Nick Jacoubs, to tell us about how becoming part of the Camp Promise community impacted him. Check out what he had to say!

Jett Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), is thrilled to announce the summer 2020 launch of a brand-new sister program of Camp Promise, Camp Promise Retreat.

Camp is an experience that every child deserves. Most parents have a multitude of options. But when your child has a serious illness, has just lost the ability to walk, and is fearful of trusting others to care for him (the way that only Mom and Dad have in the past), those options become infinitely smaller.

We learned recently that this year in the Chinese calendar will be the year of the pig! It made us wonder about our beloved Pigasus and what the year holds for our trusty mascot. Will he be lucky in love? Happy in his work? Read on to find out more!

In this time of giving and being with the ones that mean the most, we are so thankful for our campers like Darcy, their families, and our volunteers and partners for making Camp Promise such a special place. We take our staff ratios very seriously and know they play a huge role in keeping our campers comfortable and engaged, our counselors supported, and our fun levels at their highest. They impact staff and campers alike, so whether you’re a camper, counselor, parent, or any other staff member, read on! (Warning: a review of fractions and some easy math MAY be encountered below.)
