Getting in the car and going to a doctor’s appointment is a task that many of us take for granted. For Leslie Crowley, it was a herculean feat. Leslie (also known as joker, joke, bun, les, or junior) is a 26-year-old young man from Georgia, living with Duchenne muscular.

Congratulations to Theo and the Balajadia family from Cape Cod, MA on receiving their accessible van through our Jett Giving Fund’s Accessible Vehicle Fund! On November 6th, Jett Foundation staff joined an intimate group of the Balajadia’s friends and family as they celebrated the arrival of their new van.

In 2020, Jett Foundation expanded the Jett Giving Fund program to assist families experiencing unexpected financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The story of the Burr family is special. Not only does it show how hard families in the Duchenne and neuromuscular communities work to provide a better life for their children, it also is a true testament to the great things that can happen when organizations come together to support a family in need.

Cooper was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of 6, and now at 12-years-old has lost his ability to walk. Despite this, his kindness and humor has given him the ability to overcome obstacles with a great outlook on life.

On Sunday, September 12, 2021, The Gals for Cal triathlon team tackled its 13th annual Max Performance Title 9 triathlon raising funds and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Jett Foundation.

Since 2009, the JettRide has been one of Jett Foundation’s most prominent programs. JettRide has given siblings and friends the opportunity to use their physical and emotional strength to help their brothers with Duchenne. Annually riding almost 800 miles across the United States, JettRiders are able to raise awareness and funds for Duchenne.

Congrats to the Andrews family in Columbus, OH on reaching their fundraising goal for their new accessible vehicle! The Andrews family applied to Jett Foundation’s Jett Giving Fund because their son Brock, 9-years-old, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Brock lives with his father, Chris; mother, Trisha; sister, Lana; and brother, Graham.
