Jett Foundation is feeling all the love - thank you! Our month-long campaign to collect #HugsForDuchenne is half way through - we have collected 235 hugs through photos on Instagram and twitter and through our hugfunders.com website. A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors - ICUC Social, Wahlburgers, Novara, Abby Park, and Station Eight who have all donated dollars to match each hug.
Wait - there’s more! Many of you hugged and also donated to our campaign - thank you to our #HugsForDuchenne Hero club members:
- Sandra Katzin and her hero Ethan
- Jean McSherry and her hero Jett
- Michelle O’Connell in honor of Jack and Ryan
- Krista Ward in honor of Landon
- Paula Caruthers in honor of Landon
- Donna Perkins in honor of Landon
These dollars help Jett Foundation’s efforts to enrich the everyday lives of children and young adults with Duchenne through our advocacy, education and direct service programs that provide transformative summer camp experiences, alleviate the financial burden of expensive accessibility equipment and provide empowering educational resources so that families can be the best advocates for their loved ones.
Please keep up the hugs! Help us double this number by the end of September!
We are looking to spread this campaign far and wide. Across the country and across the world, beyond the Duchenne and rare disease communities; Jett Foundation wants to bring #HugsForDuchenne into the lives of people who have never heard of Duchenne but want to help keep kids walking, skipping, smiling, and hugging.
How does this work again?
Snap a photo of yourself hugging someone you care about, post it on twitter or instagram with the hashtag #hugsForDuchenne or go to hugfunders.com, and upload your hug. Your “hug” will appear amongst everyone else participating in the campaign. Get your friends and family to participate.
To further your commitment to keeping our kids hugging, join our Hero Club by donating $100 with your hug. Members of our Hero Club will receive a shoutout in our #HugsforDuchenne another blog at the end of September.
So hug, snap, post, share, and donate away, we can't wait to see all the love and all the #HugsforDuchenne!
