JettRide Jr. Makes its Debut in Windham, NH

Thirteen-year-old Liam Mullaly from Windham, NH, wanted a way to show his love and unconditional support for his little brother Connor (11) who is impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy–a fatal, currently incurable form of muscular dystrophy.

After participating in the last leg of Jett Foundation’s 2018 JettRide, Liam knew he wanted to do more. This year, he and his family are organizing and participating in JettRide Jr.: a 15-mile, 4-mile and 2-mile bicycle ride geared toward younger kids that courses through Windham to raise money and awareness for Jett Foundation and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Best of all, Connor is going to be crossing the finish line in his electric bike alongside his siblings.

JettRide Jr. is a local Windham, NH leg of Jett Foundation’s greater awareness movement: JettRide. Jett Foundation started JettRide over a decade ago; the cross-country cycle tour for teens serves as a means to spread awareness, unite families and inspire others to fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy. JettRiders consist of teenage siblings, relatives, and friends of individuals living with Duchenne. Siblings and teens who are not affected by Duchenne have their own set of hurdles to overcome. JettRide gives them the opportunity to connect with other teens who are living through the same experiences and build lifelong friendships.

“This year’s JettRide finish line was a little farther from home, but Liam had so much fun with his friends last year and was so determined to do it again. We decided to bring our own JettRide to our hometown of Windham,” said Kira Mullaly, Liam’s mom. “We are so proud of Liam’s determination and have been so happy to organize this event for a cause so near to our hearts and so deeply personal to our family.”

The ride will take place on Saturday, July 20th beginning at 10:00AM, with start and finish lines at the Windham Bible Chapel on 14 Cobbetts Pond Road in Windham, NH. All are welcome to join along the ride route to cheer on the cyclists as they pass through the neighborhoods in town toward the finish.

JettRide Jr. is made possible by many friends and partners in the Windham community. Thank you to the Lobster Tail and A.J. Letizio Sales and Marketing for their help in making this day special with treats and water stops!
